Yandel Is The First Latino To Perform At An HBO Fight, Because Jay Z

Over the weekend, veteran Reggaeton artist Yandel hit a major career milestone. The Dangerous artist was seen clinking glasses of D’Usse with the likes of Jay Z and Beyoncé at the Miguel Cotto vs. Canelo Alvarez fight. After delivering a ground-breaking performance at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Yandel became the first Latino artist to perform live from an HBO pay-per-view boxing match. What’s more? It’s all because of Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports, Cotto Promotions, and TIDAL weaponry.

A few months back, the Boricua signed a deal with TIDAL to live stream his upcoming concert (Dec. 12) at the Convention Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

“I am really excited and thankful for opportunity to work with Cotto Promotions, Tidal and Roc Nation,” said Yandel in a press conference. “It is an honor to become the first artist to represent not only my country, but also my music in an event of this magnitude with major sports and entertainment figures that I truly admire. This is without a doubt a new milestone in my career and an inspiration to continue to offer my fans music experiences with the quality that my audience deserves.”

Miguel Cotto’s Cotto Promotions signed on to produce the show and handle all promotion for the concert and related events. As a part of the deal, Yandel got the chance to give millions of viewers across the globe a glimpse of what to expect for his TIDAL debut. Yandel will also be the first artist of any genre to live stream a major concert event on the music streaming service.
