Yemen: Rockets fired from ex-president stronghold
SANAA, Yemen (AP) — The security committee of Yemen's president says that rockets fired from a stronghold of the ousted former president rocked the capital Sanaa this morning.
The Supreme Committee in charge of security arrangements says Monday the two katyusha rockets were fired at dawn, with one hitting near the Defense Ministry and a second near the French Embassy and in front of a shopping mall where it injured four people and damaged some shops.
A third was dismantled, the committee said in a statement carried by state news agency SABA.
The committee said that the launchers were found in Sanhan district between two villages named Shiaan and Shasan, both known as strongholds of ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The current government accuses him of obstructing reforms.
