Chris Ivory had a big day for the offense, leading the way to a late victory for the Jets over the Patriots, 30-27, at home.
Geno Smith accounted for two scores against the Patriots (1 pass, 1 rush) on 17 of 33 passing for 233 yards and one pick. In comparison, Tom Brady went 22 of 46 with 228 yards passing, no touchdowns and one pick for the Patriots.
Ivory rushed for 104 yards on 34 carries. Jeremy Kerley was a top receiver, catching eight balls for 97 yards with a touchdown.
The New York defense was the deciding factor in the victory, allowing 90 yards rushing and 205 passing while bringing back one interception for a touchdown. They harassed Brady and the Patriots offensive line with an imposing four sacks.
Finally, Nick Folk was perfect, making all three of his field goal attempts.
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski provided some spark with 114 receiving yards. Running back Stevan Ridley also had a good game with 50 rushing yards and one touchdown.
The Jets travel to Cincinnati next week to meet the Bengals (5-2) while the Patriots are at home to take on the Dolphins (3-3).
