New York Times Adds 5 Corrections to Melania Trump Story
The New York Times has taken extraordinary corrective measures after identifying multiple errors in its story about Donald Trump’s “Silent Partner,” wife Melania.
The article, published on Wednesday and written by veteran culture and style writer Guy Trebay, required five corrections. The first was the spelling of Rupert Murdoch’s wife Wendi, who called Melania a “supportive wife, great mother and a lovely person,”
“An earlier version of this article misspelled the given name of Rupert Murdoch’s former wife. She is Wendi Deng Murdoch, not Wendy,” the correction read.

The next correction addressed the misidentification of the age at which Melania modeled for Talk Magazine.
“She was 29, not 26, making her almost a quarter-century younger than her future husband, not more than a quarter-century younger.”

Another correction set the record straight on which Republican presidential debate Mrs. Trump attended.
“An earlier version of this article misidentified the debate that Mrs. Trump attended. She was in the audience at the Fox News debate in Cleveland in August,” the correction read. “She was not in attendance at the CNN debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif.”

The next correction concerned Sen. Marco Rubio, whom the Times mislabeled as a congressman: “An earlier version of this article misidentified the position Marco Rubio holds in Congress. He is a member of the United States Senate, not the House of Representatives.”
Finally, the Times corrected the spelling of the name of a Palm Beach Daily News editor.
“He is Robert Janjigian, not Jangigian. The article also referred imprecisely to Mr. Janjigian’s role at the paper. While he has reported on society, he is in charge of fashion coverage, not society coverage. (Shannon Donnelly is the society editor.)”
