    New Young Adult Novel Delivers Great Outdoors Adventure

    In Donald Kramer’s “Harmony Hollow,” three boys find adventure in the mountains.

    While visiting one of his sons who was working as a firefighter and living on a mountain near Walla-Walla, Washington, Donald Kramer looked down into what seemed like a bottomless valley between two mountain ranges. The view sparked the story that would later lead to his new children’s book, “Harmony Hollow” (published by AuthorHouse).

    The book tells the story of best friends Tim, Ron and David. For three months each year they live with their parents on a mountain in Washington State. Like their fathers who work for the forest service, the three boys have a love for the outdoors and a love for adventure. One day, with backpacks stuffed, the three boys set off on a secret adventure to explore the place they call “Harmony Hollow.” Trekking down the three-mile deep valley between two mountain ranges, the boys soon realize their big adventure will be much bigger than they ever imagined.

    An excerpt from “Harmony Hollow”:

    The three boys started at a fast pace towards the spot that they could still see smoke at. What they could find was not something they wanted to talk about!

    Ron said, “We must be close. Can you smell the smoke? Let’s hope the fire doesn’t start a forest fire. We can only hope that no one is hurt too bad!” Through the trees, David was the first to see the wreckage. It was still smoking. Smoke, but not any flames, it seemed. That was a good sign! But where was the person or people that were in the helicopter? No movement could be seen.
