YouTube stars more popular amongst teens than Hollywood hot-shots

Washington, Aug 7 (ANI): Apparently 13 and 18 years old prefer YouTube stars more than they like Hollywood celebrities. According to Variety magazine, a survey done on 1,500 Americans, asked the participants to answer 'how 20 well-known personalities stacked up in terms of approachability, authenticity and other criteria considered aspects of their overall influence', where the top 5 positions were taken by YouTube stars. The study, which was conducted by Jeetendr Sehdev, who has expertise in celebrity brand strategies, showed that teenagers feel more close to the "more real" YouTube stars, than the manipulated less "authentic" big-screen celebs. While Smosh, a popular comedy duo on the site, got the highest scores, actor Leonardo DiCaprio got the lowest votes. (ANI)
