Zachary Quinto Won't Be Part of Heroes: Reborn

As NBC continues work on its 13-episode Heroes event series, Heroes: Reborn, a major former cast member has confirmed that he's not participating.

Zachary Quinto, who played villain Sylar on the original series, tells BuzzFeed that he declined an offer from creator Tim Kring to return for the reboot.

It was such a meaningful experience for me," Quinto told BuzzFeed. "I loved that job. I loved those people. ... I just felt like I didn't want to go back to it. Tim was very, very understanding."

NBC recently announced that Zachary Levi has joined the project in a "key" role, but the details of that role are being closely guarded. Could Levi be playing the franchise's new Big Bad?

As previously reported, original cast member Jack Coleman will reprise his role as HRG, but Hayden Panettiere is not currently expected to appear.

Heroes: Reborn is scheduled to air later this year.
