Zoellick Mum On Advising Romney
World Bank President Robert Zoellick wouldn't say on Sunday whether he plans to advise presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney, deferring an answer until he leaves his post on June 30.
“In this job, I haven’t been able to be engaged in politics,” Zoellick said on CNN’s Fareed Zakaria GPS. “So that question will have to wait until I leave."
Zoellick, who was appointed by President George W. Bush, was critical of some of President Obama's policies. He said the president hasn't adhered to the Simpson-Bowles plan, the slate of deficit-reduction recommendations given to the president and Congress.
He did say, however, that the administration had gotten some things right. "There are aspects, tactically, that I think he and his team have executed well," he said, citing "development topics."
