1,000 Stockton families given Thanksgiving groceries as inflation tightens during holiday season

As Thanksgiving approaches, inflation is hiking food prices across the country – to help, a Northern California church gave away groceries for 1,000 local families. Hundreds of cars lined the Oasis Church parking lot Saturday morning, many of which arrived before sunrise. Each car represented at least one family, all in line to receive a car full of thanksgiving groceries. “This isn’t a handout this is a hand up, we’re here to help them,” said Heather Green, with Oasis Church. Many families told KCRA 3 that recent price hikes at stores have been financially crushing.
