$1 ticket bought at Food Lion turns into $1.2 jackpot for Charlotte man

A man won a $1.2 million jackpot with a ticket he bought at an east Charlotte Food Lion.

Robert Davis won Friday’s Cash 5 jackpot after buying a $1 ticket at the grocery store on Cambridge Commons Drive.

Davis’ Quick Pick ticket matched all five numbers in Friday’s drawing. The odds of that happening with Wednesday’s $183,000 jackpot are 1 in 962,598.

After taxes, Davis was able to take home $873,998 at the lottery headquarters in Raleigh.
