1.5 million Ukrainian children at risk of serious psychological problems – Zelenskyy

In addition to the 1.5 million young people at risk, Zelenskyy noted that thousands of Ukrainian schools have been damaged or fully destroyed and that nearly 2.7 million Ukrainian students have been forced to study online or in other non-traditional forms.

"During the meeting (with Bloom), we discussed humanitarian aid projects, issues of reconstruction, and we focused specifically on the interests of children," Zelenskyy said.

“UNICEF and our teams will work in several directions, bringing victory closer, and working to return a happy childhood to Ukrainian children.”

UNICEF stands for United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund – a United Nations program that provides humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries.

UNICEF's work focuses on improving the health, education, protection, and well-being of children and women, especially those who are most vulnerable and marginalized. The organization was established in 1946 to provide emergency aid to children in war-torn countries.

This was Bloom's second visit to Ukraine: On his first, in 2016, he travelled to eastern Ukraine, visiting Sviatohirsk, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and Mariupol.
