The North Carolina Education Lottery said there is a winner in Thursday’s drawing, giving one lucky ticket holder $1.8 million.

Currently, the prize is unclaimed, but the NC Education Lottery said the winner had purchased a $1 Carolina Cash 5 ticket to with the nearly $2 million jackpot, “the third largest in the history of the game.”

Although the identity of the winner remains a mystery, the NC Education Lottery said the winner bought the ticket online.

“The lucky winner purchased the ticket through the lottery’s Online Play program, either on the lottery’s website or on the NC Lottery Official Mobile App,” a statement from the NC Education Lottery said.

To win the $1.8 million jackpot, the ticket needed to match the numbers on all five balls.

“The odds of matching numbers on all five Cash 5 balls are 1 in 962,598,” the statement said.

The winner now has 180 days to claim their prize.

Since the jackpot was won on Thursday, Friday’s jackpot now resets to $100,000.
