1 Coronavirus Death Reported In Lower Merion Over Past Week

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Lower Merion Township saw a very small increase in coronavirus deaths, but had more than 40 new cases identified over the past week.

According to data provided Friday by the Montgomery County Department of health, one person died over the past week from the coronavirus.

That person was a man in his 80s, the data shows.

This new death brings the township's coronavirus death toll to 85.

Of those deaths, one person was in their 40s, one person was in their 50s, four were in their 60s, 10 were in their 70s, 41 were in their 80s, and 28 were 90 and above. Additionally, 49 women and 35 men have died in Lower Merion.

Forty-nine of those deaths have been women

While just one death was reported, the county data shows 43 new cases were identified over the last week.

As of Friday, 977 Lower Merion residents have or have had the coronavirus.

  • 10 to 19 — 106

  • 20 to 29 — 146

  • 30 to 39 — 100

  • 40 to 49 — 114

  • 50 to 59 — 110

  • 60 to 69 — 108

  • 70 to 79 — 68

  • 80 to 89 — 117

  • 90 and older — 75

Four hundred fifty men have been infected by the virus and 525 women have been infected. The gender for two cases have not been identified.

Montgomery County overall has had 13,127 cases of the coronavirus, as well as 837 coronavirus related deaths.
