1 in custody after shots fired at police on Far South Side

One person is in custody after someone fired shots at Chicago police officers Saturday night on the Far South Side, according to Chicago police.

About 10:10 p.m., officers saw a male firing shots toward them in the 10400 block of South Union Avenue in the Fernwood neighborhood, police said. The male tried to run away but was taken into custody.

No one was injured, and the officers did not return fire, police said. A weapon was recovered from the scene.
