1 dead, 1 injured after Green Line train strikes car in St. Paul

Jul. 5—Green Line light-rail service was suspended for more than three and a half hours Sunday in St. Paul after a fatal collision between a train and a car.

The crash occurred about 4 p.m. near the Capitol/Rice Street station, killing one of the car's occupants and injuring another, according to a KSTP-TV report. The train's operator was also taken to a hospital for evaluation, the report said.

Service resumed about 7:40 p.m., according to Metro Transit.
