1 dead, 2 injured early Sunday in separate downtown Savannah shootings; one arrest made

One person was killed and two were injured in two separate shootings early Sunday in downtown Savannah. One person has been arrested, according to Savannah Police Department.

SPD arrested Marques Booth, 18, for an alleged shooting that happened at 12:50 a.m. at Bay and Montgomery Streets. He was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to SPD. One male, with serious injuries, was transported to Memorial.

In a separate shooting on Whitaker and Congress Streets, at 1:30 a.m., one male was found deceased and another was transported to Memorial for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to a SPD press release.
