Two people died and two children were injured Wednesday evening in a crash on Curry Ford Road in east Orange County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 6:00 p.m. near Cypress Springs Parkway, said FHP spokesperson Lt. Kim Montes.

Witnesses told troopers that a 26-year-old Orlando man was speeding in a SUV down Curry Ford when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the median.

The driver’s side of the man’s SUV then crashed head-on into the driver’s side of a Ford F-150, Montes said.

The truck flipped after the collision and Montes said the 37-year-old driver, from Orlando, died at the scene.

A 17-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy riding in the truck were taken to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children with minor injuries.

The SUV’s driver later died at AdventHealth East Orlando.

Curry Ford Road was closed in both directions for a few hours as troopers investigated the deadly crash.
