One man died and two others were injured Sunday night after an off-road vehicle they were in flipped, ejecting the men.

As of Monday morning, New Castle County police officers were still on the scene investigating.

According to the department, officers were called to the 1000 block of Corner Ketch Road in North Star just before 10 p.m. for reports of the crash. There, they found the utility task vehicle overturned.

UTVs, also known as side-by-sides, are larger than all-terrain vehicles and can hold more people.

Police were told the UTV was being driven on the property when it flipped, though it remains unclear why. Five people were in the vehicle at the time and several were ejected, police said.

Jack Birch, 47, died on the scene, while another 47-year-old man and a 40-year-old man were taken to a nearby hospital with "minor injuries," police said.
