1 dead, 4 injured in crash on foggy Highway 41 near Fresno. Visibility was limited, CHP says

The California Highway Patrol reported that one person was killed and four were rushed to the hospital Friday morning after a major injury collision south of Fresno.

Spokesman Mike Salas said the crash occurred about 8:30 a.m. on Highway 41 and Floral Avenue, near Easton.

A Ford F-150 truck driven by a 17-year-old was northbound on the highway with visibility about 150 feet. As the driver approached Floral, the driver of an eastbound Chevrolet van, identified as Adrian Flores, 33, of Fresno, drove into the path of the pickup, which broadsided the van.

One passenger in the van, a 25-year-old man, sustained critical injuries when he was ejected. A 35-year-old man in the van died at the scene. Flores and two other passengers suffered major to moderate injuries. Neither party in the pickup were hurt.

One lane was blocked for a time after the crash.
