1 dead after rollover accident in Minnehaha County

One person is dead after crashing his SUV near a church in Minnehaha County.

Responders were sent to the intersection of 254th Street and 471st Avenue north of Crooks at approximately 12:58 p.m. Tuesday to a rollover crash.

Upon arriving on scene, crews discovered a maroon SUV flipped onto its roof.

According to a press release from Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Mason Braun, the SUV was traveling west on 254th Street when the unnamed driver lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch.

The vehicle rolled as a result, the release continues, and the driver was partially ejected from the SUV.

The driver was pronounced dead on scene, the release indicates. Braun told Argus Leader no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
