1 injured in mobile home park fire

CHARDON, Ohio (WJW) — A person suffered “extensive burns” in a fire at a mobile home park on Wednesday, according to fire officials.

Chardon Fire Department responded just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, to Jacques Mobile Home Park along Mayfield Road in Claridon Township, according to a news release from Fire Chief Justin Geiss.

Excavators make prehistoric discovery in Lorain County

On their way there, firefighters learned the fire had been put out, but that one person had suffered injuries, according to the release. They found the victim with “extensive burns.”

EMS workers tried to bring a medical helicopter, but it was unable to fly due to weather conditions, according to the release.

The victim was transported to a burn unit at a nearby hospital. Their condition is unknown.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by county officials.
