LANDON BURKE: A busy road in Visalia is closed to drivers at this hour as police investigate a deadly crash involving two vehicles. It happened around 2:30 this morning on Mooney Boulevard and Walnut Avenue.

AMANDA VENEGAS: Let's get back to Action News reporter Elisa Navarro. She's been live at the scene this morning. She's got the latest developments and how this could affect your drive. Elisa.

ELISA NAVARRO: It's a tragic scene here in Visalia. One man is dead and a woman is in the hospital following that two-vehicle crash. If you take a look behind me, police are still on scene investigating the deadly crash off Mooney Boulevard and Walnut Avenue.

Officials say a Chevy Colorado and a Honda Pilot collided, again, shortly after 2:30 in the morning. Police say the man driving the Chevy died at the scene. The woman driving the Honda was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with moderate injuries. Investigators are currently working to determine what led up to the crash.

Officers believe one of the vehicles may have run a red light. Now, CalTrans crews have shut down Mooney, while Visalia police officers closed Walnut, and detours have been set up. Authorities say these streets will be closed for a couple of hours, and drivers should avoid the area.

And again, this is still an active investigation. And we will remain here in Visalia as we continue to learn the latest. Live in Visalia, Elisa Novarro, Action News AM Live.
