70-year-old man killed in hit-and-run crash in North Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are investigating after a 70-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-crash late Saturday night in North Nashville.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said the crash occurred in the 1700 block of Dr. DB Todd Jr. Boulevard near 17th Avenue North just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Officials said a passerby flagged down an officer who was driving in the area after finding a man — identified as 70-year-old Edward Day — in the roadway.

Day died at the scene, according to Metro police. First responders with the Nashville Fire Department determined that Day’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

Crash investigators with the Metro Nashville Police Department are now working to identify the vehicle that was involved in the deadly crash.
