1 killed in 2-car crash on Indy’s north side

INDIANAPOLIS – Police are investigating after a person was killed in a two-car crash early Saturday morning on Indy’s north side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of East 64th Street and Allisonville Rd. Police say one person was killed in crash and another person was sent to an area hospital.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 27-year-old Breaunna Lynea Smith.

Crash investigators believe that a silver Hyundai Accent was driven northbound on Allisonville Rd when it crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a Chrysler 300 head on.

The preliminary investigation also determined that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

This is an active investigation.
