Chicago police are investigating an early morning shooting on the Near North Side that left one man in critical condition.
Shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday Chicago police were called to the 400 block of East Ontario Street where they found an unresponsive man who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to nearby Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was in critical condition, police said.
Although police list the Gold Coast address on Ontario as the location of the shooting, published media reports said the shots were fired outside a hotel in the 600 block of Lake Shore Drive, where at least one window appeared to have shot out.
Authorities said detectives were having trouble getting information from people at the scene.
“Witnesses were being very uncooperative with police and refused to answer any questions,” according to a statement from police.
