1 dead, 4 others injured after shooting near Fourth Street business in Downtown Louisville

A 22-year-old man is dead and four others injured Saturday night following an altercation outside of a business in Fourth Street, Louisville Metro Police said.

First Division officers responded to a call about a shooting around 11 p.m. at the 600 block of South Fourth Street. There, they learned several people were involved in an altercation that started inside of a business and then moved outdoors, LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley said. She said the investigation revealed people involved in the dispute started exchanging gunfire.

The Jefferson County Coroners Office said Demontae Jakwan Tyreek Marshall was pronounced dead at the University of Louisville Hospital. The other victims, two men and two women, were taken to the hospital where one man is in critical condition, Smiley said.

The Homicide Unit is investigating the incident. There have been no arrests in connection to the incident.
