1 Maple Grove School Taken Off COVID-19 Outbreak List

MAPLE GROVE, MN — One Maple Grove school was removed Thursday from the Minnesota Department of Health’s list of facilities with recent coronavirus outbreaks.

The Minnesota Excellence in Learning Academy was taken off the list, dropping Maple Grove’s total to 12 schools:

  • Arbor View Early Childhood Center

  • Ave Maria Academy

  • Basswood Elementary

  • Cedar Island Elementary

  • Fernbrook Elementary

  • Maple Grove Middle School

  • Maple Grove Senior High

  • Oak View Elementary

  • Parnassus Preparatory School

  • Rice Lake Elementary

  • Rush Creek Elementary

  • Weaver Lake Elementary

Ten of the 12 Maple Grove schools on the list are in the Osseo Area Schools district.

Threat Made Against Maple Grove High School Through Social Media

The COVID-19 data dashboard for Osseo Area Schools shows there have been 1,254 total coronavirus cases among students in the district since Sept. 7.

The district recorded 780 cases among students between Aug. 20, 2020, and Sept. 6 of this year.

Osseo Area Schools officials have also reported 231 cases among the district’s 4,100 staff members since Sept. 7.

The Minnesota Department of Health's most recent list of facilities with coronavirus outbreaks included 131 Hennepin County schools, 19 less than the previous week.

The total number of Minnesota schools on the list dropped almost 20 percent over the past week, from 1,035 to 842 schools.
