$1 million Powerball ticket sold at Circle K gas station in West Columbus

One lucky person in the Columbus area became a millionaire Wednesday night when five of their numbers purchased at a West Side gas station matched the numbers drawn for Powerball — but without the Powerball number.

The Circle K gas station located at 5499 Hall Road sold the winning ticket, according to the Ohio Lottery. The gas station will receive a $1,000 sales bonus.

Circle K employees could not be reached for comment, and the winner has not come forward, but they have 180 days from the draw date to make a claim, the Ohio Lottery indicated.

The winning numbers were: 22, 39, 43, 62, and 64. The Powerball was 7. The odds of winning the second-tier prize are one in 11.7 million.

According to the Ohio Lottery, the winner marks the 60th person in the state since 2012 to win $1 million or more for Powerball’s 5-of-5 prize.

The next Powerball drawing will be on Saturday, for a jackpot of $229 million. Customers have until 10 p.m. Saturday to purchase a ticket for that drawing.
