1-year-old accidentally ran over, killed by mother’s friend, deputies say
A one-year-old child is dead after an accident.
Floyd police said just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday, they got a call about a vehicle accident involving a small child.

When they got to the scene, they learned that a fifteen-month-old was hit by a car as it backed out of a driveway.
The mother of the toddler was babysitting for a friend and was helping to load that child into a vehicle.
The friend started to reverse and hit the child, who had unknowingly walked behind the vehicle.

Deputies said the toddler was unresponsive at the scene and taken to Floyd Atrium Medical Center where he later died.
Police said they are not being charged.
