1-year-old child found safe in Texas Amber Alert case, suspect in custody

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An Amber Alert case in Texas that reached the Kansas City metro this week has been canceled after a one-year-old child was located safe in Minnesota.

A suspect is in custody, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The child was first reported missing in Texas on Feb. 8. The child and the suspect in the case were spotted this week in the Kansas City metro.

One Independence officer killed, one hurt in shooting

A TikTok that FOX4 affiliate FOX26 in Houston obtained showed a dispute that was recorded and then posted by the suspect the day CPS and law enforcement showed up to her home to remove her child.

The same day, Feb. 8, police in Houston issued their Amber Alert.

When police showed back up to the home, the suspect, along with the child were gone.

The child has a serious heart condition that requires medicine. That medicine was never picked up and authorities feared for his safety.
