1 person dead in single-vehicle crash in Butler County

Butler County Sheriff’s Office says one person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Morgan Township Friday morning, according to a media release.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to report of an accident on California Road, north of Alert New London Road, Friday at around 6:32 a.m., the sheriff’s office said.

A 2001 silver Honda was traveling southbound when it went off the roadway, struck a drainage pipe, and flipped over into a creek, our news partner WCPO in Cincinnati reports.

A 21-year-old-male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

The cause of the crash is unknown at the time and it is currently under investigation.

Butler County Sheriff’s Office says identification is being withheld pending notification of the family.
