1 person hospitalized after shooting in Pittsburgh’s Upper Hill neighborhood

One person was taken to a hospital after a shooting in a Pittsburgh neighborhood.

Allegheny County dispatchers say police and medics were sent to Lyons and Cherokee Streets in Upper Hill at around 1:38 p.m.

Pittsburgh police said they found a male with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper back.

Officials at the scene told Channel 11 the victim was shot in the back and upper arm.

Officials also said the victim was outdoors at the time of the shooting.

The victim was conscious and alert, according to police.

He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

There are no suspect descriptions, and the investigation is ongoing.
