1 person killed, 1 critical in Orlando dump truck crash

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a dump truck that left one person dead and another seriously injured.

Troopers were called to the intersection of Clarcona Ocoee Road and North Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando just before 5:30 p.m. Monday for a crash involving a 2010 Infiniti and a 2006 Mack Dump Truck.

According to FHP, one person in the Infiniti died at the scene. A second person in the Infiniti was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Troopers say they’re still working to identify both of them.

The driver of the dump truck, identified only as a 39-year-old Orlando man, didn’t need to be taken to a hospital and stayed at the scene.

Traffic Homicide Investigators are still in the process of gathering evidence to determine what happened and who was at fault.

Clarcona Ocoee Road was shut down completely between Long Road and Orange Blossom Trail for the investigation.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
