1 seriously injured after crash in Preble County

A Franklin man was taken to the hospital Monday night after a crash in Preble County.

Crews were called to reports of a crash in the area of State Route 122 and Greenbush Drive around 8:30 p.m., according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.

An initial investigation showed that 42-year-old Billy Joe Thompson’s 2003 Ford Ranger was disabled in the roadway.

Thompson was trying to move his vehicle out of the roadway with the help of Nicholas Debord, 29, of Somerville, when Debord’s Chevrolet P-Series vehicle was hit by a 2020 BMW X5, driven by Utepov, 24, Youngstown.

The BMW hit the Ford and Thompson, as well as the Chevrolet P-Series.

Thompson was transported to Atrium Medical Center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, according to troopers.

The crash remains under investigation.
