Man arrested after 1 shot outside Salisbury bowling alley

A man has been arrested after someone was shot in Salisbury, police said.

It happened on March 15 at Woodleaf Lanes off Jake Alexander Boulevard. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were non-life-threatening, police said.

An investigation was being conducted around a Jeep in the parking lot of the bowling alley around 8 p.m. Police said the victim’s vehicle was taken during the shooting but was returned a short time later.

Salisbury police said with help from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Statesville Police Department, officers arrested William Issac Sanders, 40, last week in Statesville. He has been charged with the following:

  • Assault with serious bodily injury

  • Larceny of motor vehicle

  • Possession of firearm by felon

  • Larceny from a person

  • Larceny of a firearm

  • Robbery with a dangerous weapon

Sanders is in the Rowan County jail and was given a $210,000 bond, authorities said.
