10 Beaver Valley singers to perform in NYC's Carnegie Hall

One of America's most prestigious concert halls will feature a performance including members of the Beaver Valley Choral Society.

Distinguished Concerts International New York City (DCINY) announced the Beaver Valley Choral Society had auditioned successfully, and now 10 of its members get to participate in a performance of Pepper Choplin’s “The Seven Noels” as part of the DCINY Concert Series at the Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The concert will take place Nov. 28 under the direction of the composer, Pepper Choplin.

The 10 Beaver Valley Choral Society singers will join with other choristers to form the Distinguished ConcertsSingers International, a choir of distinction.

The BVCS members and five of their guests will travel to Manhattan on Nov. 25 to begin an intense three-day preparation for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The singers will participate in two days of practice and musical clinics while at famed Carnegie Hall, preparing for the Nov. 28 concert. A reception and dinner for the performers is scheduled immediately after the concert.

"The Choral Society is very proud and honored to participate in this special cultural event conducted by Choplin at such a prestigious venue as Carnegie Hall," Robert Headland, BVCS media relations manager said in a news release. "Not only is this an exciting opportunity for those fortunate to attend, but it also further recognizes the Beaver Valley Choral Society as an outstanding and distinguished musical organization."

Beaver County residents can catch the full Beaver Valley Choral Society on stage at 4 p.m. Dec. 4 as musical headliners of the 2022 Christmas Carol Sing at Rochester Area High School. The Beaver Valley Choral Society will perform a Christmas concert.
