10 Best Cities To Celebrate The Fourth Of July This Year, According To WalletHub

We’re already in July — can you believe it? Summer is in full swing and so are plans this Fourth of July weekend. If you haven’t figured out what to do or where to go this holiday weekend, we’ve got you covered.

WalletHub recently released a report on the best cities to celebrate Independence Day this year. Coming in at the top spot is San Francisco.

According to the report, The National Retail Federation projects that Americans will spend about $7.7 billion on food this holiday weekend.

How the cities were ranked

WalletHub analyzed 100 of the most populated cities in the US. Rankings were based on the cities’ 4th of July celebrations, attractions, activities, affordability, safety and accessibility as well as the weather forecast for the holiday weekend. 

Within each category was specific measurements like lowest average beer and wine prices and least DUI-related fatalities per capita. 

For example, Durham, North Carolina has the lowest average beer and wine prices and Atlanta, Georgia has the highest.
