These 10 California burger joints rank among the nation’s best, Yelp says

Those looking for a juicy burger in California meatless or not are in luck. The state has 10 of the top burger joints in the nation, according to a new report from Yelp.

Yelp released the top 100 burger spots in the U.S., highlighting restaurants across the state from San Jose to San Diego. And the list has something for everyone from classic fast-food chains to vegan restaurants.

At No. 5, Father’s Office in Los Angeles tops the list for top burger joints in the state. Reviewers raved about The Office Burger on Yelp, which is served with caramelized onions, bacon, Gruyere, Maytag blue cheese and arugula.

“I can honestly say this is one of the best burgers I’ve had. Juicy, flavorful, yet fresh at the same time. It’s all you could ever want in a burger,” one person wrote.

As for the plant-based options, a few restaurants were included in the list published last month.

One place was Plant Power Fast Food, a vegan fast food drive-through restaurant in San Diego. It landed the No. 39 spot. Customers can order hamburgers and cheeseburgers made out of pea protein and enjoy dairy-free shakes.

The vegan burger patties here are actually quite impressive; not quite the same as a nice beef patty, but definitely not bad,” one reviewer said.

Popular fast food chains were also recognized among the top burger spots in the country, including In-N-Out in Burbank and Five Guys in San Jose.

Here are the 10 burger spots in California:

To find the best burger joints in the country, Yelp looked at businesses in the restaurants and food categories that had reviews including “burgers.” These businesses were ranked on the “total volume and ratings of reviews.”

“If a business with multiple locations appear more than once on the list, we keep the highest ranked location,” according to Yelp.
