10 COVID-19 Cases Reported At 8 Iredell County Schools In A Week
IREDELL COUNTY, NC — At least 10 people associated with eight schools in Iredell County tested positive for COVID-19 last week, according to Iredell-Statesville school district.
At least 184 employees of the school district — or about 7 percent — have been quarantined for COVID-19 since Aug. 10, the school district said Friday. As of Oct. 9, at least 40 positive COVID-19 cases were confirmed among school district faculty or staff.
During the week of Oct. 5, four schools reported positive COVID-19 cases, ISS said. Here is the listing of schools reporting positive COVID-19 cases in the past week:

North Iredell Middle School: positive case, no close contacts identified
Oct. 6
Troutman Middle School: positive case, no close contacts identified
Oct. 8
West Iredell Middle School: positive case, close contacts have been notified
Lake Norman High School: positive case, close contacts have been notified
Troutman Middle School: positive case, close contacts have been notified
Troutman Elementary: positive case, close contacts have been notified
East Iredell Middle School: positive case, close contacts have been notified
Statesville High School: positive case, close contacts have been notified

The school district reports weekly the number of COVID-19 cases present in its schools, however, does not indicate if the cases are of students, teachers or staff.
As of Oct. 9, the number of COVID-19 cases in Iredell County rose to 3,3876, an increase of 181 cases reported in the county in the span of a week. At least 43 deaths have been attributed to coronavirus in Iredell County since late March.
As of Friday, ICHD said 11 county residents remained hospitalized for COVID-19 illness.
North Carolina reported 231,471 confirmed coronavirus cases in the state Sunday, which included 1,719 newly confirmed cases in the state since Saturday, according to data released Oct. 11 by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
