Explore Asian and Pacific Islander heritage at an exhibit opening reception
5-7 p.m. at Panama City Center for the Arts, East Fourth Street in Panama City. Panama City Center for the Arts will host an opening reception for the Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month exhibition in the Miller Gallery. Complimentary wine and snacks will be served. Jeannie Millaway, a local writer and engineer, organized this heritage exhibition in collaboration with other families in Panama City, collecting family heirlooms and other staples in Asian art to educate and fascinate visitors. Come explore the history and beautiful techniques of art from Asian culture. The exhibit will be on display through May 28.

Sip on a mint julep at the Second Annual Hats & Horses
3:30-6:30 p.m. at VBA Design, 2424 Jenks Ave. in Panama City. VBA Design will present a Kentucky Derby-style Hats & Horses to benefit Club 360. The 2nd Annual event will include everything you would expect from the Kentucky Derby, including mint juleps, whiskey and wagers, silent auction, heavy hors d’oeuvres, televised viewing of the Kentucky Derby and prizes.
Area restaurants will showcase their best fare and compete for the coveted title of “Best Derby Dish.” The afternoon also includes games, races and the grand finale, “Run for the Roses,” which will be televised live.

2:30-7:30 p.m. at Roberts Hall, 831 Florida Ave., Lynn Haven. The Lynn Haven Rotary Club will host a Derby Day celebration. Participants will watch all the day's races while enjoying food, drinks, games and live music, all included with each ticket. Guests will be treated to the music of John Cannon. There will be games and activities throughout the day, including bingo and a silent auction. The festivities will culminate with the running of the Kentucky Derby.

Quack your way across the finish line at Beach Care Services Duck Races 2022
5:30-8:30 p.m. at Laketown Wharf, 9902 S. Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach. Beach Care Services will host its annual Duck Races fundraising to help locals who live or work on the beach with short-term emergencies.
The event brings together businesses, first responders, local celebrities and duck racers for one splash of a good time. Hundreds of rubber duckies compete to be the best little rubber ducky of the year, as large inflatable duckies powered by people teams to bring the winner across the finish line. The event will include music, food, drinks, prizes, awards, silent auction and a chance to win $1,000.
Tickets are $20 per person for adult and $5 for 12 years old and under. Rubber ducks are $5 for one; $25 for a six quack; $50 for 13 a ducky dozen; or $100 for a 30 max quack.
