Eat at the tee during the Grand Pineapple Golf Challenge

No, this event has nothing to do with SpongeBob SquarePants. The 2022 Grand Pineapple Golf Challenge and "Taste at the Tee" is Monday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Wynlakes Golf & Country Club, 7900 Wynlakes Blvd., Montgomery. This is the Alabama Restaurant & Hospitality Association's annual golf tournament, a fun four-person scramble. At every hole, the "Taste at the Tee" lets golfers sample food and drinks from Alabama restaurants, breweries and distilleries. Hispanic Heritage Month Concert at ASU

On Tuesday, Alabama State University will host a Hispanic Heritage Month Concert, 7-9 p.m., featuring piano professor Dr. Adonis Gonzalez. It's happening in the Tullibody Music Building, 1001 University Drive, Montgomery.  It'll also have solo and chamber works by Hispanic composers and in Hispanic musical styles performed by various ASU music faculty and students. It's also a celebration of Santiago de Cuba native Gonzalez's heritage. They'll hold a light reception featuring Hispanic hors d'oeuvres in the music lobby area after the performance. Catch the world premiere of Ashes & Ink play

You've still got four chances to catch the world premiere of "Ashes & Ink," a play being presented at The Sanctuary, 432 Goldthwaite St., Montgomery by Nora's Playhouse. Written by Martha Pichey and directed by Caroline Reddick Lawson, it's a story about grief, addiction, and a mother's love. Here's the play description: Molly’s son is a talented actor who is preparing for an audition to a prestigious drama school. He is also a recovering addict. Can he beat his addiction and get into drama school at the same time? And can Molly’s relationships survive his anger? Shows are Thursday, Friday and Saturday are at 7 p.m., and Sunday is 2 p.m. Tickets are $25, and student tickets are $10. Get them online at www.norasplayhouse.org.

Big night of country at Town & Country Revel

On Thursday at 6 p.m., Town & Country Revel will be held at the Everest Group Lodge, 2015 E. 2nd St., Montgomery. It's a night of country music to benefit the Jackson Hospital Foundation. Michael Jay Hughes will open the night for a lineup that includes Cameron DuBois, Jessie Wilson, Kyle Wilson, Mo Pitney, Reid Haughton and Blane Rudd. There will also be a guitar drawdown for a one-of-a-kind handmade guitar from Hank Teuton of Baruch Guitars. All proceeds benefit palliative and hospice care at Jackson Hospital. Due to the unpredictability of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Ian’s forecast, Ballet and the Beasts at the Montgomery Zoo has been postponed a week to Friday, October 7 for the safety of guests and dancers.

Two days of Oktoberfest coming to Wetumpka

When Queens Uplift Queens in Prayer

Come out Saturday to My Place, 185 Eastern Blvd., Unit 159, Montgomery, when beauty supply group The KayLuxe Collection honors Breast Cancer Awareness from 2-5 p.m. The event is "When Queens Uplift Queens in Prayer, Together We are Tougher than Cancer." Guests should wear pink and white semi-casual attire. It's an afternoon of food, games, prizes, entertainment, shopping and more. Overcomer Tour with Tamela & David Mann at MPAC

The Mann's Family Concert and Comedy Show with Tamela and David Mann is making a stop Sunday at the Montgomery Performing Arts Centre.
