When you plan a holiday, there are loads of things to take into consideration. What will the weather be like? How long is the flight? Is the food and drink expensive? Unsurprisingly, working out what 'class' the destination falls into probably isn't high on the priority list.

Nevertheless, William Hanson, etiquette and protocol expert, has told Cosmopolitan UK the 10 holiday destinations that he deems to be 'middle class'. They are:

  • Provence, France

  • Dordogne, France

  • Tuscany, Italy

  • Algarve, Portugal

  • Devon, UK

  • Cornwall, UK

  • Mid to North Wales, UK

  • Florida, USA

  • Anywhere with a Yurt

While some of those listed above might seem fairly understandable (we're looking at you, Tuscany and Provence), others are potentially more unpredictable. A Yurt, for example? It's certainly interesting.

As with anything of this nature, it's worth taking a big pinch of salt alongside the list. But it is interesting to see what the etiquette expert categorises as 'middle class', especially those locations a little closer to home – Devon, Cornwall and mid to North Wales.
