Find Medical Schools With High Residency Placement Rates

After four years of medical school, an aspiring physician typically moves on to the next phase of his or her training: a residency within an area of medicine, such as primary care, radiology or psychiatry.

Experts say prospective medical students should evaluate residency placement rates before choosing a medical school. Only 26 ranked medical schools of the 170 surveyed for the 2018 Best Medical Schools research and primary care rankings provided these data. Here are the 10 ranked medical schools where 2016 graduates were the most likely to match with their first-choice residency program.

10. University of New England (ME)
