A Des Moines Register review of two years of campaign finance data shows Republicans have accumulated $1.5 million more than Democrats in candidate contributions and in-kind spending in the most expensive legislative races, excluding party leadership, boasting more than $4 million to Democrats’ more than $2.5 million in the 2022 midterms.
