We'll start with an incomparable vocalist and songwriter, finish with one of the greatest rappers of all time – and sandwich a few members (and future members) of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in between.

Throw in some "Heat Waves," "MMMBop" and "Semi-Charmed Life," and Nashville's July concert calendar isn't looking too shabby. Here are our 10 picks for the shows you can't miss this month.

July 8-9: Brandi Carlile

Brandi Carlile performs at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Jan. 14, 2020.

July 13: Steely Dan

Nearly five years after the passing of bandmate Walter Becker, Donald Fagen has continued to bring their brilliant jazz-rock fusion to concert stages. Steely Dan's hit-heavy setlist should send any casual fan reeling – they haven't released a new album in 19 years, after all. They're coming to Franklin's FirstBank Amphitheater. July 15: Hanson

Their debut single "MMMBop" turns 25 this year, but the iconic sibling trio from Tulsa still refuses to coast on nostalgia – their new album, "Red Green Blue," combines solo contributions by all three members. They return to the Ryman Auditorium this month. More information at ryman.com

July 23: Sharon Van Etten, Julien Baker and Angel Olsen

July 25: Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo

This year has been a good one for these two – not only have they learned they'll be inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, they're celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. They'll revisit the hits they've made together (including “Shadows of the Night” and “Love is a Battlefield") at the Ryman Auditorium. More information at ryman.com

July 27: Third Eye Blind and Taking Back Sunday

A ‘90s rock staple and longtime emo favorite collide for a summer run that’s sure to spur singalongs loud enough to bounce out of the rock quarry at FirstBank Amphitheater in Williamson County. More information at firstbankamphitheater.com.

July 28: Glass Animals

British indie staple Glass Animals make a stop at Ascend Amphitheater after the unlikely rise of inescapable chart-topper "Heat Waves." More information at livenation.com.

July 29-30: Turnpike Troubadours

July 31: Kendrick Lamar

Nashville will be one of the first cities to witness Lamar's 76-date "Big Steppers" tour – his first in nearly five years. The Pulitzer-Prize-winning rapper released his long-awaited fifth album, "Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers," in May. More information at bridgestonearena.com
