Each and every season, fans eagerly wait to see what the queens will deliver in the iconic Snatch Game challenge on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Since season two of the series, the Snatch Game has become a Drag Race staple where the queens must prove that they can think on their feet, impersonate a celebrity, and most of all: make RuPaul laugh! Over the years, we’ve seen comedy queens both succeed and fail in the challenge, as well as non-comedy queens pulling off surprisingly great performances or failing in a very epic way.
To celebrate a challenge that we love so much, it’s time to rank the Snatch Game performances that were “robbed” of a win on Drag Race.

Pandora Boxx – Carol Channing (Season 2)

Pandora Boxx is, in many ways, the absolute OG comedy queen of Drag Race. Back in season two, however, the Snatch Game placed a larger focus on looking like a celebrity rather than being as funny as possible. Boxx’s impersonation of Carol Channing was absolutely fantastic, but she didn’t end up winning the challenge after all.
Raja – Madame & Diana Vreeland (All Stars 7)

The Snatch Game of All Stars 7 was further evidence that this all-winners season had the highest competitive level ever seen on Drag Race. Though Jinkx Monsoon and Trinity the Tuck absolutely deserved winning this challenge, fans also felt like Raja’s impersonations of Madame and Diana Vreeland were worthy of a victory.
Pearl – Big Ang (Season 7)

The Drag Race judges weren’t living for Pearl in season seven, which certainly contributed to how much they overlooked her legendary Snatch Game performance as Big Ang. In fact, Pearl’s Snatch Game didn’t even land her a spot in the top three of the week, which is truly gobsmacking.
Jujubee – Eartha Kitt (All Stars 5)

We all loved Shea Couleé’s Flavor Flav on All Stars 5, but many fans argue that Jujubee’s Eartha Kitt was just as great. There was no doubt that these two queens would be the top two of the week under classic All Stars rules. However, All Stars 5 introduced the Lip Sync Assassin twist that required only one contestant to win each challenge… robbing Juju of this obvious double Snatch Game win.
Monét X Change – Maya Angelou (Season 10)

Monét X Change’s Maya Angelou was “no punk b*tch,” and we loved every second of it. Though it can be hard to turn such a serious poet into a funny Snatch Game character, X Change did the damn thing and had us cracking up for the entire Snatch Game of season 10.
Kylie Sonique Love – Dolly Parton (All Stars 6)

It’s hard to deny the fact that Ginger Minj is a queen of the Snatch Game, but not many fans expected that a “look queen” like Kylie Sonique Love would deliver such a brilliant performance as Dolly Parton. That surprise factor had many viewers feeling like Love was robbed of another challenge win this week, and for good reason!
Alexis Mateo – Alicia Keys (Season 3)

What else can we say about a Puerto Rican queen who delivers a lesbian and pregnant version of Alicia Keys in the Snatch Game? Alexis Mateo’s performance was not only hilarious, but it was also irreverent and risky – defying what the judges and the fans thought that she could pull off in this challenge.
Aja – Crystal LaBeija (All Stars 3)

Going into the Snatch Game of All Stars 3, expectations weren’t super high for what Aja would be able to pull off. And yet, the season nine alum delivered a brilliant impersonation of Crystal LaBeija that was severely overlooked by the judges.
Nina West – Harvey Fierstein & Jo Anne Worley (Season 11)

Nina West was often critiqued for her runway looks in season 11, but her Snatch Game performances as Harvey Fierstein and Jo Anne Worley proved the caliber of talent that this seasoned queen possesses. Unfortunately, West didn’t end up winning this challenge, but many fans felt like she absolutely could have.
Naomi Smalls – Wendy Williams (All Stars 4)

The judges slept on Naomi Smalls for pretty much the entirety of All Stars 4, and her hilarious impersonation of Wendy Williams was yet another piece of evidence. Overall, this performance should’ve gotten a lot more praise than it did on the show.
