A $10 scratch ticket bought at Milford convenience store brought a big return

MILFORD — A Shell gas station's convenience store on Medway Road recently sold a $10 scratch ticket that resulted in a $1.3 million prize, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery.

The Nouria shop at the Shell station at 139 Medway Road (Route 109) sold the $2,000,000 50X Cashword” instant ticket, said Christian Teja, a MassLottery spokesperson.

RCW Trust, of Clinton, claimed the prize on Thursday, with trustee Daniel Notaro choosing the cash option and receiving a one-time payment of $1.3 million before taxes.

While Massachusetts requires the names of lottery jackpot winners to be public record, winners can shield their identities by forming a trust to claim their prizes.

Daniel Notaro, trustee for RCW Trust, of Clinton, claimed a $2 million prize for a winning scratch ticket last Thursday. The trust opted for a one-time cash payment of $1.3 million, minus taxes.

Nouria Energy Corp. was formed in 1989, when founder Tony El-Nemr purchased a service station in Auburn, according to the company's website. Its portfolio today includes 170 convenience store locations (of which 150 are company-operated), 56 car washes, two lube centers, the Whately Diner and a wholesale business.
