The list of semifinalists for the 2024 James Beard Awards is out, with Los Angeles making a big showing.
Greg Dulan of Dulan’s Soul Food Kitchen, Hotville Chicken and DulanVILLE in Inglewood made the list for outstanding restaurateur.
Jeremy Fox of Birdie G’s in Santa Monica and Rashida Holmes of Bridgetown Roti in Los Angeles made the list for outstanding chef.
Danielle Duran-Zecca and Alessandro Zecca of Amiga Amore in Los Angeles made the list for emerging chef.
Barra Santos in Los Angeles is a semifinalist for the best new restaurant category.
Gusto Bread in Long Beach has been recognized as outstanding bakery.
Nicole Rucker of Fat + Flour in Los Angeles made the list for outstanding pastry chef or baker.
Luv2eat Thai Bistro in Los Angeles was named a semifinalist for outstanding hospitality.
Strong Water Anaheim gets a hat tip, being named a semifinalist for outstanding wine and other beverages program.
Rounding out the nominations, Esters Wine Shop & Bar in Santa Monica is a semifinalist for outstanding bar.
Finalists will be announced April 3, with the awards given June 10.
