Infielder Luis Arraez made his way into the Miami Marlins’ record book in Tuesday’s 8-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies by hitting the first cycle in the franchise history.

Arraez, who turned 26 on Sunday, accomplished the feat with a first-inning double, fifth-inning triple, seventh-inning home run and eighth-inning single.

Through Tuesday’s games, Arraez leads MLB with 22 hits and a staggering .537 batting average. His eight multi-hit games are tied with the Phillies’ Bryson Stott for most in MLB.

“I feel healthy and I’ve felt that if I was healthy this year, I could do a lot of things,” Arraez said.

Here are 10 stats that provide some additional context of Arraez’s feat:

4,700: Arraez’s cycle came in the the Marlins’ 4,700th game as a franchise.

264: The amount of times a Marlins player was one hit away from a cycle — 42 were a home run shy, 199 were a triple shy, 19 were a double shy and four were a single shy.

111: The number of cycles that were hit since the Marlins played their first game on April 5, 1993, before Arraez hit the Marlins’ first cycle.

18: Arraez’s cycle was the 18th to be hit against the Phillies. Since 2019, the Phillies have allowed three players to hit for a cycle against them — the Twins’ Jorge Polanco on April 5, 2019; the St. Louis Cardinals’ Nolan Arenado on July 1, 2022; and Arraez on Tuesday. First-year Marlins manager Skip Schumaker was in the visiting dugout for each of the past two.

17: Arraez’s cycle was the 17th to be hit by a player within the first 12 games of the season.

15/9: The seventh-inning home run was just the 15th of Arraez’s big-league career. The triple in the fifth inning was just the ninth of his career. Arraez has 80 career doubles and 362 career singles.

11: The number of players who hit multiple cycles before the Marlins had one as a franchise. Former Marlin Christian Yelich has hit three with the Milwaukee Brewers. Trea Turner, now with the Phillies, had three with the Washington Nationals, as did Adrian Beltre. Freddie Freeman Freeman, Arenado, Brock Holt, Carlos Gomez, Michael Cuddyer, Aaron Hill, Brad Wilkerson, Brock Holt and John Olerud also had multiple cycles. Holt is the only player in this group to have one of his cycles occur in the postseason.

8: Arraez now has eight career four-hit games since making his MLB debut on May 18, 2019. That’s tied for the fifth-most in that span with Polanco, Rafael Devers, DJ LeMahieu and Jose Iglesias. It only trails Amed Rsario (15), Tim Anderson (13), Freeman (12) and Charlie Blackmon (nine)

6: Arraez is the sixth Venezuelan player to hit for the cycle. The others: Eduardo Escobar (June 6, 2022), Pablo Sandoval (Sept. 15, 2011), Carlos Gonzalez (July 31, 2010), Carlos Guillen (Aug. 1, 2006) and Cesar Tovar (Sept. 19, 1972).

3: The number of cycles hit against the Marlins before they got their first cycle. The three hitters to do it: The Colorado Rockies’ Todd Helton on June 19, 1999; the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Cody Bellinger on July 15, 2017; and Freeman on Aug. 18, 2021.
