Festivals this weekend showcase Native American musicians, Latina comedians and Octoberfest celebrations. Plus some big-name concerts.

Bob Dylan

On top of a musical career that stretches back more than a half-century, Dylan has continued to perform live. His Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour is at the Cadillac Palace all weekend.

Indigenous People’s Day

Back for its fifth year, this two-day festival showcases Native American musicians. Performers include Keith Secola, Raye Zaragoza, Digging Roots and One Way Sky. The event is supported by a grant from the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

Bonnie Raitt

Latina Comedy Festival

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with this three-day event at venues across the city. Performers include Alicia Molina, Amy Colon, Irma Ruiz, Jess Martinez, Kat Diaz and Soli Santos. The main event is “The Marathon Show” at the Lincoln Lodge, where comedians will take to the stage in rapid fire sets.

Bayanihan

This event celebrates Filipino culture as part of Filipino American History Month, with the name “bayanihan” referring to a sense of communal unity. Enjoy food and drinks while browsing art and apparel.

‘The White City’

With the full title “The White City: An Audible Exhibition on H.H. Holmes, Murderer,” this audio play will be presented by Theater in the Dark in the South Loop this weekend. The thriller by Rick Kinnebrew is about the serial killer alleged to have murdered more than 20 people during the World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893, and focuses on the victim of the only murder for which Holmes was convicted, that of his business partner Ben Pitezel. True to its name, Theater in the Dark turns out all the lights to present plays by voice and storytelling in the darkness. Chilling.

Chicago Seadog Haunted River Tour

A costumed tour guide will host your 75-minute nighttime tour of the Chicago River, focusing on mobsters, scandal, spirits and sin. Plus a short speedboat ride on Lake Michigan.

Historic Pullman House Tour

One of Chicago’s oldest continuing tours of historic homes returns for its 50th year. The tour gives the community a chance to see inside the neighborhood’s historic homes and certain public buildings, and enjoy live music and food.

Oktoberfestiversary

Begyle Brewing and Dovetail Brewery are again hosting this party celebrating the fall season. There will be live music on two stages, with bands including The Whiffs and The Rhinemaidens, as well as food trucks and lots of beer.
